保护环境英语演讲稿 Everybody Can Help The EnvironmentWe all know Tagore.This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us, and we earn it by giving it.” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we earn it by contributing to it. However, most people nowadays just want to ask for more from the nature. In fact, they do very little contribution to the nature. Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse. Do you often use batteries? Then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? And just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. The facts and figures are amazing. So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? If possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more. Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem. We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. For example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. It is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. At the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. Later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. Gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. All of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan. We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect. Finally would you please let me end this speech with a little poem, “Be kind to the river. Novak DjokovicMr. president of General Assembly,Mr. president of International Olympic team,excellencies ladies and gentlemen:尊敬的联合国大会主席，尊敬的国际奥委会主席，女士们先生们：It is a real honor to address the UN and to be given an exceptional privilege of speaking on behalf of the global family of athletes in this historic day.First of all, I would like to thank the UN member states for preclaiming the April 6 the“International Day of Sport for Development and Peace”.我很荣幸来到联合国，并有幸代表全世界运动员的在这历史性的日子里发言。首先，我想要感谢联合国各成员国提出将4月6日设为”体育促进发展与和平国际日“的提案。I was born and raised in a small but proud country that has gone through difficult times in the last decades. It was during that period of hardship that sports became an integral part of my life. Everything change for me when I saw Pete Sampras triumphed at Wimbledon.He became my idol.I triumphed of being just like him of the NO.1 tennis player in the world. It took me 13 years to achieve my goal. It was a long journey and it was not mine alone. I am incredibly blessed to have enjoyed the support of people who I love. They continue to inspire me so many ways. When a reknown athlete peaks out,he or she reaches a large audience. That's serious responsiblity. When they encourage kids to dream big and work hard, we can make a tangible differences in their lives helping them reach their full potential. It is one of the reasons also why I established the Novak Djokovic Foundation. More and more children now have the chance to get the head start through exercise and preschool education with sporting facilities which are creative energy in a postive direction.They also learn to work together for a common purpose . The UN has been given those possibilities to establish common standards for sustainable development on our 21 century world.And I have a great appreciation for your endeavors. It is the form of personal enviornment and internal pursuit of excellence and help people some way to discipline your mind and body. I will take away off this meeting the meaning sense of purpose to give my best every time i go out on the court but also to give back to those less fortures to raise awareness of the plight of children who need our help and encouragement most,so their dreams come true.Allow me once again to thank you for what you have done and for giving me the chance to take part in this session which i hope will go along way to bring sports into the main streams of the UN's agenda.Thank you for your attention.但竞争不只是为了战胜对手，也不是为了拿到奖牌。他是一种内在追求卓越的个人思想，这种形式有助于帮助人们修养身心。我想从这次会议中所学到的一个应当是尽力做到最好，每次当我上场时，唤起人们对那些处在困境中的孩童的关注，他们最需要我们的帮助和鼓励，来实现他们的梦想。请允许我再次感谢你们所做的一切，并给我机会参与到这次会话中，我希望今后体育能成为联合国日程中的主流。谢谢各位的倾听！求采纳~~~~
